Engagement and Social Value

Be First is delivering substantial physical change across the Borough. Whilst the change is focussed on improving the life chances and opportunities for existing and new residents, it is acknowledged change can be difficult and that it is important that residents feel involved and have a sense of agency over the change.  Plans that work with residents will deliver better outcomes.  Be First’s Engagement and Social Value team lead on both individual Be First scheme engagement but increasingly are looking at longer term engagement and establishing community visions such as the work at Dagenham Heathway, Marks Gate and Dagenham Village –  complex areas which will take a number of years to progress and where plans inevitably need an element of flexibility to deliver the shared outcomes.
