Job description

This is an excellent career development opportunity as part of Be First’s drive to enhance our existing monitoring function with a new digital capability. We want to utilise the vast amount of big data captured within the planning process to deliver service improvements, make planning and development more accessible, and better direct the infrastructure needed to enable development such as affordable homes, new schools, health facilities and transport .
The post will also play a key role in developing research activities to promote Be First as leading authority in the growing area of Planning Digitalization.
We will provide training and education support for the right candidate with drive and a willingness to progress.

Person specification

The right attitude is the most important skill – as part of the Monitoring Team you will be responsible for ensuring CIL, s106 and s278 obligations are collected and reported, but you also have scope to utilise big data. You must be willing to suggest and try new ideas, and open to learning from both successes and failures that will be part of our digital journey.
Able to think and work proactively, “self-start” and also work within a result orientated and collaborative team culture.
Scrupulous attention to detail, particularly with regard to technical aspects of operational processes and practices, accuracy of records and reports, efficiency and accuracy around schedule and diary management.
Proactive stakeholder skills – working with our internal Be First and LBBD colleagues and with external developers
A degree is not essential, it would be desirable for you to have experience and potentially qualifications in one of the following areas: IT and digital services, finance, business, planning and development.
