Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a proactive, enthusiastic, and skilled communications professional to help us develop and establish communications and PR as a key function at Be First. You will be a leader and champion for communications within the organisation; developing strategies, improving the organisation’s website, creating exciting and engaging content that can be used across digital platforms. You will also work on internal comms, updating our staff intranet and promoting staff events that reflect our company values and bring the organisation together to achieve its mission.

Job description

Principal Duties
• Create and manage content on the group’s social media platforms, website and intranet
social media monitoring
• Updating and manage the company’s website
• Produce press releases, email newsletters, blogs and other written materials
• Create and manage marketing campaigns to existing and prospective clients
• Perform admin duties such as raising POs, paying subscriptions and invoices
• Media monitoring, producing communication updates and reports
• Management and supervision of support (e.g. other members of staff, project teams, suppliers) to deliver projects and initiatives and achieve key objectives
• Working with local and trade media to sell in stories and promote the work of Be First
• Representing Be First communications at various events and visits and liaising with media on promotion
• Play a leading role in developing Be First’s internal communications, for example by producing internal communications stories, newsletters, and managing staff events
• Ability to deputise for Head of Communications when required
• Some out of hours on call work required

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• You will thrive in an environment which involves working to challenging deadlines
• A keen interest in staying ahead of the curve in terms of communications and PR approaches and techniques, keeping up to date with the latest social media sites, trends & technologies
• Confident and friendly and able to communicate with employees and customers at all levels
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask
• Experience with successful supervision and management of others (e.g. direct reports, project teams, external suppliers) to get first class results whilst enabling development of skills and capabilities
• Experience with evaluation of projects and initiatives, to determine whether goals and objectives have been achieved, incorporate learning and experience from delivery into future work as part of continuous improvement
• Flexible person ready to adapt to changing conditions, circumstances and business needs, and turn your hand to a wide range of tasks
• Experienced with WordPress, hootsuite, Search Engine Optimisation & google analytics
• Desirable: video editing and production skills (kinemaster, Adobe premiere etc)
